June 12, 2014 — Park University has been accepted to participate in the U.S. Air Force General Education Mobile Program. The GEM Program is designed to assist Air Force active duty, Air Force Reserve and Air National Guard personnel in completing the 15 credit hour general education requirement toward an associate degree through the Community College of the Air Force.
The GEM Program provides a roadmap for service members in regulating the quality of schools available, and provides assurance that the coursework completed has relevancy with other institutions should they pursue a four-year degree.
The program coincides with Park’s mission to provide convenient access to a quality higher education experience by offering online options.
“The largest potential benefit for Park is increased exposure to the Air Force community,” said Sean Moriarty, director of military and federal programs. “Once the students complete their CCAF associate degree, there is a higher likelihood they will return to Park to complete a four-year degree.”
Airmen interested in pursuing a CCAF degree will be guided to the Air Force Virtual Education Center website and will choose from a selection list of GEM participants, including Park’s GEM webpage at www.park.edu/gem.
