Park University International Center for Music Students Awarded Sigma Alpha Iota Scholarships

The Kansas City alumnae chapter of Sigma Alpha Iota awarded scholarships to four Park University International Center for Music students for their audition performances on March 7 in Prairie Village, Kan. Sigma Alpha Iota, an international music fraternity for women, promotes music in colleges, universities and in the community, along with providing support and encouragement to musicians.
 
The scholarships awarded to Park students:
          • 
$1,500 Diamond Sword Scholarship — Artem Kuznetsov, senior applied music/piano from Balashov, Russia
          • 
$1,300 Alumnae Memorial Scholarship — Mansur Kadirov, currently pursuing a graduate certificate in cello performance (and 2014 Bachelor of Music graduate) from Tashkent, Uzbekistan
          •  
$1,200 Second Century Scholarship — Hanna Zhdan, freshman applied music/violin major from Minsk, Belarus
          •  
$1,000 Rose Award Scholarship — Laurel Gagnon, sophomore applied music/violin major from Hooksett, N.H.
