Park University’s School of Education and the Dorothy Harper Watson Literacy Center have partnered with Barnes & Noble at Zona Rosa Town Center for a book fair to support the North Kansas City (Mo.) School District on Saturday, Sept. 26, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The event will help fund the University’s River Read Children’s Literature Festival, scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 13, on the Parkville Campus. River Read will provide 600 fourth grade students from the NKCSD the opportunity to meet 16 local authors, explore literature and learn about the writing craft.
Shoppers interested in supporting River Read simply need to mention the North Kansas City School District or the River Read Children’s Literature Festival and a portion of the sale — made in the bookstore or café — will benefit the event. In addition to in-store purchases, Barnes & Noble online shoppers can enter Park’s book fair ID number (11702354) upon checkout to benefit the Festival.
