The Kansas City chapter of the Institute of Management Accountants will hold its spring continuing professional education conference at Park University on Thursday, May 12. The daylong event — “Becoming a Strategic Chief Financial Officer” — will be held in the University’s Park Distance Learning Conference Center, located within the Parkville Commercial Underground on the University’s Parkville Campus.
The feature speaker will be John Levy, chief executive officer and principal consultant for Board Advisory, a consulting firm that assists companies with corporate governance and compliance, ethics, and financial reporting and strategies.
Topics presented during the conference include:

• Prepare for a Chief Financial Officer Role

Registration fees for the conference are $149 for the general public and $59 for college students, if received before Friday, April 22; fees go up to $169 and $69, respectively, if received after April 22. Registration includes lunch. The conference is certified by the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy. Net proceeds from the conference will benefit Park University’s IMA student chapter.
