Jennifer Keane has been appointed as a development director within the Office of Advancement at Park University. She began her duties at Park on Oct. 17. In her position, Keane will cultivate relationships and partnerships with alumni, friends and organizations that lead to the support of students, programs and projects at the University.
Keane joins Park after serving as director (2013-15) and senior director (2015-16) of the American Heart Association’s Kansas City Heart Walk. She has spent her entire 15-year career in a variety of nonprofit organizations in the Kansas City and Chicago regions.
Previous experience includes: serving as director of development for Heartland Foundation in St. Joseph, Mo.; director of development and associate executive director for the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Foundation, Rosemont, Ill.; outreach coordinator and director of development for Ronald McDonald House Charities of Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana, Chicago; and association assistant for the Thoracic Surgery Foundation for Research and Education, Chicago.
Keane has been involved in a number of community activities, including the Michigan State University Alumni Club of Kansas City, serving as its vice president in 2011 and its president in 2012-13. She has also served in a number of positions and on committees for the United Way of Greater St. Joseph, the St. Joseph Chamber of Commerce and the Ronald McDonald House serving the Ann and Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago.
A graduate of Michigan State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in marketing, Keane also has a certificate in planned giving from the Association for Healthcare Philanthropy’s Madison (Wis.) Institute.
