Missouri American Water, which serves communities throughout Missouri, including Parkville, home of Park University’s flagship campus, presented a $50,000 check to Park President Greg Gunderson, Ph.D. (center left) and Associate Vice President for Advancement Nathan Marticke (far left), to go toward the University’s new School of Business building, which will be known as the Robert W. Plaster Free Enterprise Center. Missouri American Water’s commitment will help fund a named classroom space in the building, President Cheryl Norton (center right) and External Affairs Manager Christie Barnhart (far right), represented Missouri American Water at the presentation on June 13.
“Park University has been an important part of Parkville’s history and community for more than 140 years. As the water provider for Parkville, Missouri American Water looks for opportunities to support local businesses and institutions,” said Norton. “We are proud to be able to contribute to the School of Business campaign that will increase Park University’s footprint, create opportunities for students wishing to pursue educational endeavors and allow the University to continue to support our veterans.”
The Plaster Center is planned to be built on the University’s flagship campus in Parkville, Mo., on the east side of the University’s main entrance. Fundraising and planning for the building continues, with groundbreaking anticipated in 2018.
