General Information:
-- Approximately 30 majors
-- Bachelor of Science in Chemistry, offered in the 16-week, traditional mode-of-delivery
-- National Award Winning American Chemical Society Student Chapter
-- 100% placement of 2010 graduating class in graduate programs or immediate employment.
-- Two full-time faculty, 1 part-time faculty member, and 4 adjunct faculty. Student major to full-time faculty ratio: 15 to 1. All 300 level and
above chemistry courses are taught full-time, terminal degreed faculty.
Curriculum:
71 credit hours focusing on the major divisions in the chemical sciences.
-- Hands on experience with instrumentation built into all advanced laboratory courses.
-- Research and Internship experiences encouraged for those considering immediate employment in the chemical industry or continuing to
graduate work.
Professional Networking:
-- Annual attendance at the Kenneth A. Spencer Award Colloquium and Banquet.
-- Conference presentations (as undergraduates) at Missouri Academy of Sciences, Regional and National American Chemical Society meetings.
-- Internships have been performed (to name just a few): Wichita State University, Environmental Protection Agency, Quest Diagnostics,
Kansas City, Kansas, Criminal Investigation Department.
-- Bi-monthly speakers from area graduate programs invited to speak to students about research
Service:
-- Graden Elementary Science Night
