Beginning January 2012, Park University's Nursing Program will be offering a new online degree - the Bachelor of Science in Nursing Completion Program. The BSN Completion Program, offered in eight-week sessions, is designed to provide a flexible format. This career mobility program gives students an opportunity to expand their nursing knowledge and customize their plan of study in the arts, sciences and humanities to fit their personal interests.

The Nursing Program's application season is January 1 through April 15. During this time, application for admission, applicaton fees, scheduling of the nursing validation examination, and entrance exam fees are accepted.

The nursing program is limited to 65 students. To accept those with the greatest promise for completion of the program, applicants will be ranked from high to low on the basis of the total score earned on the nursing validation examination. Qualified applicants must also have a complete file with transcripts, reference forms, and LPN license or eligibility. Failure to submit all required documents by the required deadlines will eliminate applicant from selection.

Applicants accepted for admission will be notified on or around June 1.

 

Admissions Criteria for First Time Applicants

  • Applicants must be a Licensed Practical Nurse in the State of Missouri, or currently enrolled in a PN program with graduation date prior to the next starting date of the program.
  • Applicants are required to take the Nursing Program's validation examination.
  • Applicants are required to submit by May 1:
    1. Official academic transcript from high school (or GED), practical nursing school, colleges, or other post-secondary schools attended.
    2. Two reference forms, one from the director of the practical nursing school attended and one from a practical nursing instructor or a work supervisor.
    3. Copy of current Missouri LPN license or reference of eligibility for the NCLEX-PN.

Admissions Criteria for Re-Applicants

  • Applicants must be a Licensed Practical Nurse in the State of Missouri.
  • Applicants are required to take the Nursing Program's validation examination.
  • Applicants must submit a written request to the Nursing Program for their File to be Opened and Reviewed for an additional charge of $15.00.

Former students who did not complete the program will be readmitted only if approved by a vote of the nursing faculty.
