Online courses are offered in 8-week terms 5 times a year to help you achieve your educational goals in a flexible and academically stimulating format.  The online criminal justice degree has three concentrations in Security, Law Enforcement, and Corrections.

The basic aim of the Criminal Justice Administration Bachelor of Science program is to develop a comprehensive understanding of the total criminal justice system within the larger society by providing a firm base in the theoretical, philosophical, and practical knowledge of criminal justice. The program aspires to provide a broad focus at the early stages of the student's professional development by increasing his/her ability to deal effectively in the criminal justice system mission in society. Well over 35 basic career opportunities in the criminal justice system (law enforcement, corrections, probation, parole, the courts, prosecution, and defense) at the community, municipal, county, state, regional, and federal levels await the Criminal Justice Administration program graduate.

Requirements for Admission

To enter this criminal justice online Bachelor's degree completion program, a student must meet the following conditions: 

  • Earned high school diploma, GED or equivalent
  • a cumulative 2.0 GPA in all previous college study
  • Completion of the Application for Admission and payment of the application fee.

Students will need to complete at least 30 semester hours through Park University, with 12 hours in their major in order to receive a degree from Park University. 

A variety of credits may be transferred in from the following sources:

  • Transferred courses with a 'C' or above grade from other regionally accredited colleges and universities
  • CLEP/DANTES/ACE credits
  • VLE - Validated Learning Experience

A total of 120 credit hours are required for degree completion.  Forty-eight (48) credits are in the major field distributed as follows:

  • CJ 300 Agency Administration 3 cr.
  • CJ 350 Criminal Justice Management and Planning 3 cr.
  • CJ 400 Constitutional Law in Criminal Justice 3 cr.
  • CJ 450 Senior Seminar in Criminal Justice* 3 cr.
  • CJ 440 Internship in Criminal Justice* 3 cr.  
  • OR...
  • CJ 441 Senior Writing Project (3 cr.)
  • CS 140 Introduction to Computers 3 cr.
  • ML Modern Language (one language) 6 cr.
  • OR
  • CS 151 Introduction to Programming (3 cr.)
  • AND
  • CS 219 Programming Fundamentals (3 cr.)
  • OR
  • CS 144 Beginning Program wMultimedia Projects (3 cr.)

One of the following areas: 12 cr.

Area A: Law Enforcement - CJ 311 and CJ 312 plus 6 semester hours upper division work in one of the following areas: political science, sociology, or psychology

Area B: Corrections - CJ 232 and CJ 322 plus 6 semester hours upper division work in one of the following areas: political science, sociology, or psychology

Area C: Security - CJ 233 and CJ 333 plus 6 semester hours upper division work in one of the following areas: political science, sociology, or psychology

TOTAL: 48 Credits
