Culture of Engagement

During her September 14, 2005 Convocation address, Park University President Beverley Byers-Pevitts called upon the Park community to enact a "Culture of Engagement," saying:

"Today, let us not only share our hopes and dreams for the current academic year but also reflect about our purpose as individuals and as a University community in addressing society’s challenges. I would like to suggest that our response is to enact a Culture of Engagement at Park University.

If we as individuals and as a University community truly want to transform our world, then we must become engaged in our communities and in the lives of our fellow human beings."
