History of the Parkville Commercial Underground

Parkville Commercial Underground opened in 1996 when the Park Hill School District leased space for its building maintenance personnel offices, transportation officers, dry goods storage, frozen foods storage and a Resource Instruction Center for district educators.

The facility lies within native Argentine Limestone that was mined using the “room and pillar” method, which created large, usable spaces.

Tenants have included light manufacturers, an engineering firm, several wine wholesalers, an enzyme distributor, food manufacturer, electronic manufacturer, and companies that provide medical records storage and data warehousing.
