Recycling Kickoff!

Park's recycling team held an event on Wednesday, September 2, 2009 to kick off Park's full-scale recycling efforts on the Parkville and downtown campuses. Hundreds of students, faculty and staff attended as well as community members. The day's activities included information tables by student and community groups, free food and a Park recycling t-shirt giveaway.

Also, the Parkville campus was lucky enough to host two performances by Eco-Elvis during the kickoff party. You can see him performing some of his songs about living green in the following videos from the kickoff.

Eco-Elvis is an Elvis impersonator who sings about recycling and sustainability. His costumes are made of recycled materials.

Park's recycling team also hosted a Environmental Stewardship Forum on February 5, 2010, from 1:30 to 3:00 in the Barbara and Jenkin David Theater/Alumni Hall. All students, faculty and staff were invited. The guest speaker was be sustainability consultant Chris Stemen.
