Missing Students
If a member of the Park University community has reason to believe that a student who resides in on-campus housing is missing, he or she should immediately notify Campus Safety at (816) 584-6444. Park University Campus Safety will generate a missing person report and initiate an investigation.
If the student is not located, Park University Campus Safety will notify the Parkville Police Department and the student’s emergency contact no later than 24 hours after the student is determined to be missing. If the missing student is under the age of 18 and is not an emancipated individual, Park University Campus Safety will notify the student’s parent or legal guardian immediately.
In addition to registering an emergency contact, students residing in on-campus housing have the option to confidentially identify an individual to be contacted by Park University in the event the student is determined to be missing. If a student has identified such an individual, Park University will notify that individual no later than 24 hours after the student is determined to be missing. Students who wish to identify a confidential contact can do so through the Park University Student Housing Staff. Please complete the following information and submit it to Housing Staff:
Missing Person Confidential Contact: In accordance with the 2008 Higher Education Opportunity Act, Park University offers students an opportunity to identify a confidential contact who would be notified in the event the student is reported missing. This information is voluntary and is kept confidentially. It will only be used in the event the student is reported missing.
