Take Care of Your Body and Mind

First Wave of Tests
Lots of time and energy can be given to test preparation and you may feel
anxious during this period. The best study habit is to review material every day
to avoid cramming at the last minute. If you get a low test score, consider it
feedback so that you can improve subsequent scores for that class. Try to
understand what the professor wants you to know. Gage whether or not you need to
invest more time in studying or practice writing out essay answers. Be proactive
and visit the
Academic Support Center or start a study group.
Slow to Get Involved?
It’s never too late! There is a high correlation between extracurricular
involvement and graduating. Student clubs and
organizations are always interested in gaining new members. Joining clubs
can help you on a number of levels: Networking during undergrad can pay off
later when you begin your job search. You can add your club participation to
your resume. Contributions you make to the organization such as graphic art,
working a table, and formatting documents may count as job skills. On an
intrapersonal level, socialization helps keep away depression and builds support
that you can count on later when you feel overwhelmed.
Write a Resume
Career Development hosts a resume writing informational
session. Take care of this now so that your job search is less daunting in the
future.
