Student Health

Park Students with various types of health insurance have different options for health care. Please check below.

Students with Park University Student Insurance (offered through Bollinger) can utilize the healthcare services available at Platte County Health Department – on Highway 9 just north of the Park University softball and soccer fields.  The address is: 1201 East Street, Parkville, MO 64152.  The Primary Care Clinic is open Monday through Friday, from 9 am to 4 pm, and you need to call (816) 587-5998 to make an appointment. Please identify yourself as a Park University student with Student Insurance when you call, and please take your Bollinger Student Insurance Card, plus your Park ID card, when you go for your appointment. (If you need more information about Student Insurance, please check the Student Assistance Center website.)

A Walk-in Clinic is also available at the Parkville office of Platte County Health Department, Monday - Friday 8:00 am to 6:00 pm.  Please call (816) 587-5998 for more information.  The Walk-in Clinics do not require an appointment. Services are provided by a highly qualified staff of Registered Nurses.  The Walk-in Clinic offers the following services:

  • Blood pressure, blood sugar and hemoglobin screenings,
  • Tuberculosis skin tests,
  • Confidential pregnancy tests,
  • Confidential HIV – AIDS and STD testing,
  • Adult and International Travel Vaccinations, including:

Flu shots, Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, Japanese Encephalitis*, MMR Meningococcal, Pneumococcal, Tetanus & Diphtheria, Typhoid*, Varicella, Yellow Fever*

*Please call ahead about travel vaccinations so that they can order the appropriate vaccines. Also, visit CDC's website to find out exactly which vaccinations are needed for your trip.

Students with private insurance will need to find a provider through their network.

All students are encouraged to carry the Bollinger Student Health Insurance.  Residential Students, Varsity Athletes, International Students with F-1 Status, and Nursing Students are required to purchase Student Insurance unless they provide proof of personal insurance.  Details are available on the Student Assistance Center website.

Students may call the Nurse-Line at St. Luke's Northland Hospital at 816-932-6220 for free nurse advice and physician referral 24 hours a day.

There are five Walgreens' Take Care Clinics in the area.  They do not accept Bollinger Student Health Insurance in advance, but if you go there for care - you can submit the claim to Bollinger insurance after the visit.  For instance, you would probably pay $65 for a visit to the Take Care Clinic (up Highway 9, to 45 Highway and left one block), then afterward - the clinic staff would provide a claim form which you can submit and get $50 back from Bollinger.  So - the visit would be just $15.00.  You can also check their website to see if your private insurance is accepted.
