Register for Parent & Family Orientation
About Parent and Family OrientationParent and Family Orientation is scheduled for Thursday, August 14, at 3 pm. It will start with a reception on the first floor of Thompson, followed by an opening session in McCoy Meetin' House and break-out sessions with faculty and staff at Park University. You'll learn more about campus safety, jobs and internships, student development, residential student information, student involvement opportunities, adjustments for the parents, and more! At 7 pm, your student is invited to join you for a special Ice Cream Social for New Students and their Families in Thompson. To RSVP your participation in the Parent and Family Orientation, please complete the registration form (links at the top of this page) or call Student Life at (816)584-6377 by August 12. When you're ready to come to campus, please utilize the Parkville Campus Map to help you determine which entrance to use and which parking lot is best. If you're driving to campus just for the Parent and Family Orientation, we suggest Parking Lots 3, 4, or 1, as noted on the map. Or, you can walk to Thompson from Copley Quad or Chesnut student housing. Hope you can join us! Please also note that we will be hosting a special Orientation for Parents of Early Action Students. This modified session will be on Wednesday, August 13, 4 pm - 6 pm, in McCoy Meetin' House. (If your schedule allows, Parents of Early Action Students are also invited to participate in the full Parent and Family Orientation described above.) Soon, we will update this page with other Parkville activities we recommend for the afternoon - when your student is participating in the Early Action activities off-campus. Then, you'll re-join your student and members of the Park University faculty and staff for the Early Action BBQ that evening at 6:30 pm. To register for the Orientation for Parents of Early Action Students, please complete the registration form or call Student Life at (816)584-6377 by August 11. More details will be available on this page soon, and it will include Fright Night on Friday evening for younger family members, Parent and Family Recognition at the Women's and Men's Soccer games on Saturday afternoon, and a special event for Siblings and Students sponsored by the Campus Activities Board. --------------------------------- University Resources
