Student Safety
Your student's safety is of upmost concern to us at Park University. And, you’ll be glad to know that our campus is very safe. The Parkville campus has a “small-town” feel, where people look out for one another and the campus community as a whole.
Residence Halls
If your son or daughter is living on campus (and we hope they are!), you
are aware that access to the residence halls is limited to only
residential students. Students must use their Park IDs to enter the
building. There are also
security cameras at the building entrances and on each floor - which are
viewed by Campus Safety staff on a 24-hour basis. For additional
information about Residence Life, please check the Campus Housing
website or
call Residence Life (816)584-7400.
Escort Service, Registration of Property, Special Safety Programs, and More
The Campus Safety department is open 24 hours a day, every day, to provide safety and assistance to the campus community. On their website, you can learn about the Escort Service available to your students, if they’d prefer to have a staff person walk them to class, their car, or their residence hall. The website also includes tips and information about special “personal safety” classes available to students. We also encourage students to utilize the Registration of Property forms available through the website, to register the specific information about their laptop computer, camera, or other personal equipment. Their website also includes the Campus Crime Report, so you can see for yourself just how safe the Parkville campus is! Please check out the Campus Safety website for information about the many different personal safety programs and services available at: http://www.park.edu/safety/ or call Campus Safety staff at: (816)584-6444.
