I got involved with the Student Senator as a sophomore Senator. Currently am also working with the new international student as their mentors.

 

Why I am in Senate?

Because I like it, and I have always been a bridge through which students can communicate with the University's administration.

Who is Kirby?

Kirby Appollis has been a student advocate for her entire career at Park University. She was elected to PSGA as a Freshman Senator and has never left. She is currently involved in the Research and Development committee, and the Student Life committee. Kirby is also encompassed in a number of on campus organizations; Park Model United Nations, First Year Experience mentor program, Park Student Government Association and the Park University Student Ambassador program.

 

Why I am in Senate?

The main reason I am in Senate, because I want to make impactful change in my University for the students.

Who is Jayme?

I am the Assistant Dean of Student Life at Park University. Some of my areas of responsibility for the department include Leadership and Engagement, Residence Life, Pirate Fitness, Student Conduct, Orientation, and Assessment. I also have the great honor of being the advisor for the PSGA and it is one of my favorite parts of my position. In my free time, I enjoy exercising, watching sports, reading, and spending time with my family.  My wife, Beth, is a junior high math teacher.  We have two wonderful children, Brady and Darby.

 

Why I am in Senate? 

I am in my career field of higher education because of my student leadership experiences like student government. I enjoy working with students in their personal and professional development and get energy when the group achieves their mutual goals.
