General Camp InformationPark University will be hosting residential camps for high school students in Summer, 2007 – providing an opportunity for students going into their freshman, sophomore, junior, or senior years of high school to spend a week learning about a topic of interest to them! Faculty and staff from the Parkville campus will be teaching some of Park’s most popular subjects, with plenty of hands-on experiences and small group work with Park University students – to bring the subjects to life! Students will live on campus – in Chesnut Hall – Sunday evening through Friday afternoon, with many field trips and activities on-campus and in the Kansas City metropolitan area. In the daytime, students will be in groups based on their subject area - learning in the classroom, the lab, the theatre, outdoors, and in area museums and facilities. In the evenings, students will have an opportunity to socialize with students from all the camps – playing laser tag, swimming at the Aquatic Center, completing a civic engagement project, going on a scavenger hunt, and more! Detailed draft schedules for each of the camps are available on the Summer Camp home page. The Park Academic Camps for 2007 are scheduled from Sunday evening, June 17 through Friday afternoon, June 22. On Friday, parents, family, and friends are invited to join your students for lunch on campus, followed by the capstone event – seeing the students’ work come to life! The cost for each student – inclusive of lodging, meals, and special outings – is $495.00 Space is limited, so we encourage you to mail the completed application form and check by April 1 to reserve your space!
