Dorothy Watson Literacy Awards for 2004-2005 Presented April 13

Four Park University students received Dorothy Watson Literacy Awards at the annual Park University Honors Convocation, held April 13 in the Graham Tyler Memorial Chapel. The awards were presented by Dr. Kathy Lofflin, Director of the Watson Literacy Center, in the name of Dr. Dorothy Watson (Park College Class of 1952). The awards are presented annually to undergraduate students who show exceptional promise in the field of literacy education. This was the fourth year these awards have been presented. One award is usually presented for each of the education department’s five undergraduate literacy education courses or blocks; however, this year there were only four awards due to small enrollment in the middle school literacy block. Each recipient received a $50.00 book store gift certificate and and an award certificate.
