An Architectural Gem
Park University's Parkville campus, long-recognized as an architectural gem, features brick and limestone facades, classic cornices and gleaming spires pointing skyward. Its architecture symbolizes the values of its founders – faith and work. Each building speaks volumes about Park's history, stories and structures that are worth preserving.
Tucked behind Mackay Hall (listed on the National Register of Historic Places) stands the old Carnegie Library, a building with an equally remarkable, but somewhat forgotten past.
The library, now known as Norrington Hall, houses the offices of Admissions and Financial Aid, a high-profile destination for prospective students and their parents. Unfortunately, 100 years of Midwestern weather have taken their toll on the wood-clad windows. This landmark building finds itself in serious need of repair.
