Hazardous Mitigation Plan

Park Family,

I am pleased to announce that effective December 17, 2015, Campus Safety and Park University has approved a resolution to enter into an agreement with the Mid-America Regional Council as partners in their Regional Hazard Mitigation Plan. The plan includes access to resources in two states, nine counties, and 119 cities.

The agreement makes Park University the first university in Missouri to enter into such an agreement. The mutual aid agreement will assist Campus Safety in supporting such threats to the campus as tornadoes, severe thunderstorms, severe winter weather, flooding, heat waves, earthquakes, infectious disease, transportation accidents, hazardous materials, public shooting incidents, civil disorder, cyber disruption, and terrorism.

This innovation in a regional approach to emergencies gives Park assistance from all over the Region when needed. For more information on the Regional Hazard Mitigation Plan visit: http://www.marc.org/Emergency-Services-9-1-1/MEMC/Activities/Regional-Hazard-Mitigation-Plan
