What is a Public Relations Minor?

At Park University, our Public Relations Minor program is designed to prepare students for a career in the dissemination of public information through the mass media. Through this program, students will learn the skills, knowledge and techniques to lead public opinion and dynamically engage with the public sphere.

Locations & Learning Options

As a student in our Minor in Public Relations program, you’ll be required to take face-to-face classes at our Parkville, Missouri campus and/or online. This minor requires a total of 24 completed credit hours, and students must maintain a minimum grade point average of 2.0 on a 4.0 scale. Pursue a career in the distribution of public information through mass media and a public relations minor.

Students who pursue a Minor in Public Relations take courses in such topics as the fundamentals of writing for media, public relations, digital media skills and advanced-level courses in communication research methods and case studies in communication leadership.

Students who pursue a Minor in Public Relations at Park University study in an environment that combines classroom learning with real-world experience. Through this program, you can learn to engage in public opinion analysis, as well as the research skills and techniques to establish psychographics within groups. This program will also help you develop an ability to apply your knowledge and skills in business, government, education and politics.
