Communication Arts and Leadership - Adjunct Instructor

The Department of Information Systems and Computer Science has an immediate need for adjunct instructors to teach on the Parkville, MO, campus this academic year.  Applicants should hold a master’s degree in the discipline or in a related discipline, and industry experience and/or teaching experience in the teaching content area.  Likely course assignments include Introduction to Computers, Introduction to Programming (Java), Programming Fundamentals (Java advanced), Programming Concepts (C++), Web Programming I (XTHML, CSS, JavaScript, applets), Web Programming II (ASP.NET, JSP, and/or Ajax), Operating Systems, and Data Structures (C++ and the STL).

Fitness, Wellness & Recreation - Adjunct Instructor

The Department of Athletic Training and Fitness and Wellness is seeking an Adjunct Instructor for the spring 2015 semester for the growing Bachelor of Science in Fitness & Wellness degree. The Adjunct Instructor is responsible for teaching a variety of fitness and wellness courses including, but not limited to FWR 122 Human Nutrition, FWR 225 Kinesiology, FWR 310 Advanced Conditioning, and FWR 375 Fitness & Wellness in Special Populations. 

The successful candidate will possess the following:

    - An earned Master’s Degree in Exercise Science is required, PhD preferred

    - Certifications from either NASM (i.e. CES, PES, FNS), ACSM (i.e. HFS), or NSCA (i.e. CSCS)

    - Previous collegiate teaching experience

    - The availability to teach in the daytime at the Parkville campus

Adjunct Instructor(s) Dramatic and Theatre Arts
Position Responsibilities: Dramatic and Theatre Arts Generalist. Applications are invited for adjunct position(s) in Dramatic and Theatre Arts beginning August, 2014. The ideal candidate(s) will be a generalist and may have the opportunity to teach a variety of courses from the following areas: Appreciation, Introduction to Theatre, Oral Communication, Principles of Acting, Principles of Theatrical Design, Acting, Directing, Creative Drama, Play Production, Voice and Speech, Theatre Practicum, and History and Literature of Theatre.

Required Qualifications: Master’s degree or Master of Fine Arts preferred with classroom teaching experience and some record of scholarship and commitment to the liberal arts classroom.

Preferred Qualifications: Strengths include formal preparation and classroom experience and a varied record of directing plays and performance ensembles. The applicant should be an advocate for the discipline and may assume additional duties coordinating a Theatre Club concurrent with teaching courses. The successful candidate will be a generalist with a primary interest in undergraduate teaching.

Nursing -Clinical Adjunct Faculty ***New Posting***
The Nursing Program at Park University has 2-4 openings for Clinical Adjunct instructors for the 2013-2014 academic year. Clinical Adjunct faculty members are valued members of the Nursing Program team. They are responsible for facilitating student learning processes during the provision of patient care, grading assessments of student learning, and collaborating with other faculty members and nursing unit staff to assure safety and quality in student clinical course work.

Fall clinical openings include Medical Surgical and Mental Health rotations. Clinical rotations are scheduled for either Tuesday or Thursday and are 9 hours each week during day shift hours. Medical Surgical rotations are in the Kansas City area and Mental Health rotation openings are in St. Joseph, MO. Spring openings include Maternal Newborn (OB) and Med Surg / Leadership. Clinical rotations are scheduled for either Tuesday or Thursday and are 12 hours each week during day shift hours. OB rotations will be located in St. Joseph, MO and Med Surg / Leadership rotations are in the Kansas City area.

Requirements include a Masters Degree in Nursing or a BSN with current enrollment and evidence of progression in a Masters Degree program, undisciplined licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Missouri, current American Heart Association BLS certification for Health Care Providers, and evidence of required immunizations for clinical faculty members. Park University's College of School for Education is seeking Adjunct Faculty to teach classes in both the online Bachelor of Science degree in Early Childhood and Early Childhood Education and Leadership at Park University.  All, but clinical classes, are offered online in an 8 week format. 

Masters in Early Childhood Education or related discipline required.  Ph.D. in Early Childhood Education or related discipline, preferred.  3 years teaching experience in an early childhood program (birth to Kindergarten) required.
