The second concert in the Park University International Center for Music’s 2015-16 concert series season will feature a performance by the ICM’s award-winning faculty and gifted student artists. The concert, billed as a “Side-by-Side” event, will be held Wednesday, Dec. 2, starting at 7:30 p.m. in Graham Tyler Memorial Chapel on the University’s Parkville Campus.
The concert will include a performance of the following selections:
• Johan Sebastian Bach’s “Cello Suite No. 6 in D-Major,” performed by cellist Daniel Veis, assistant professor of music/cello
• Richard Strauss’ “Sonata for Violin and Piano in E-Flat Major, Op. 18,” performed by pianist Lolita Lisovskaya-Sayevich, instructor of music/piano, and violinist Ben Sayevich, professor of music/violin
• Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky’s “String Sextet in D-Minor, Op. 70 (Souvenir de Florence),” performed by Sayevich, Veis and students — violists Laurel Gagnon, junior applied music/strings major, Hooksett, N.H., and Anna Sorokina, graduate student pursing degree in violin performance, Moscow, Russia; cellist Mansur Kadirov, 2014 graduate and current student pursuing graduate certificate in cello performance, Tashkent, Uzbekistan; and violinist Hanna Zhdan, sophomore applied music/strings major, Minsk, Belarus
Individual tickets for the concert are $10, and season tickets for this and the remaining four concerts on the season schedule (not including the ICM Gala Concert) are $40. Park University students, faculty and staff with Park ID are admitted free. To purchase tickets, visit www.park.edu/concert.
