Park University Appoints Dr. Jayme Uden as Chief Human Resources Officer

Dr. Jayme UdenMarch 18, 2024 — Jayme Uden, Ed.D., has accepted a new leadership role at Park University as its chief human resources officer, effective today.

Uden, who has been with Park University in a variety of student life positions since July 2011, will oversee and lead human resources strategies covering talent management, employee relations, training and development, performance improvement, compensation and benefits, organizational development, HR information systems and appropriate regulatory compliance. He will also serve as the University’s Title IX officer. In addition, Uden will collaborate with Park’s Vision 2025 People and Culture Strategic Impact Group, which is addressing objectives of fostering diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging, communicating with clarity and transparency, and cultivating employee satisfaction and engagement.

Prior to his new role, Uden had served Park as its associate vice president and dean of students since December 2016. In the previous 5½ years, he served as dean of students, associate dean of students and assistant dean of student life. Prior to joining Park University, Uden was an assistant director for residence life at the University of Kansas from 2006-11 and he was a residence life coordinator at Kansas State University from 2003-06.

“Jayme has acquired experience and skills as a student affairs administrator that will greatly assist him in this new professional opportunity as he facilitates employee engagement across the Park network,” said Park University Provost Michelle Myers, Ed.D.

Uden earned his Doctor of Education degree in higher education and his Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology, both from the University of Kansas. He also earned a Master of Education degree in higher education from Iowa State University.

Over the past 20 years, Uden has been involved in a number of collegiate student life organizations, including NASPA – Student Affairs Administrators in Higher Education. He is a past chair of the Missouri Student Affairs Council and a past board member of the Greater Kansas City Housing Information Center. In addition, Uden was a member of the Northland (Kansas City, Mo.) Regional Chamber of Commerce’s Leadership Northland class of 2013-14.
