Laure Christensen has been promoted to the position of chief of staff at Park University. Christensen began her new duties on June 1.
Christensen, who has served in the Office of the President at Park since 2008, previously served as special assistant to the president. She will remain a part of the University’s executive leadership team
and will work closely with Park University President Greg Gunderson, Ph.D., in a variety of ways, including serving as an adviser and manager of administrative, operational and financial affairs. Christensen will also oversee reporting needs, organize communications, coordinate special events with other departments and serve as the main administrative liaison between the Office of the President, the executive leadership team and Park’s Board of Trustees.
“In her new role, Laure will play a critical communication role with our Board, as well as within the executive team itself,” Gunderson said. “Laure brings a deep commitment to Park University and a can-do attitude that is essential to the University’s success.”
Christensen began her career at Park in July 2003. In addition to serving as special assistant to the president, she has held a variety of roles in the School of Arts and Humanities, the Office of Academic Affairs and the Office of the President. In 2012, Christensen was honored by the Northland Regional Chamber of Commerce with an Excellence in Education award. Prior to joining the University, Christensen served as office manager and events specialist at Vic Gutman and Associates, a special events firm in Omaha, Neb.
Christensen, a resident of Parkville and a native of Omaha, earned a Bachelor of Science degree in interdisciplinary studies from Park. She is married and has four adult children and eight grandchildren.
