Geography and Geology Schedule Spring 2009

About the Program

Geoscientists study a wide range of issues ranging from biogeography of the Amazon River to cultural differences in Zimbabwe. Students may select courses in line with their specific academic and career goals.

arrow What classes will I take?

Geography covers a large spectrum of topics and is the only discipline at Park University to span both the social and natural sciences. Due to this broad range, the Geography program has been divided into three concentrations:

  • General Geography: study the cultural and physical characteristics of the world. This concentration is designed to provide students the greatest flexibility in taking geography and geology courses. Students choosing this concentration should work closely with an advisor to select electives appropriate to their goals.
  • Human Geography: study the cultural differences and spatial interactions within and between groups (religion, language, customs). This concentration is designed for students interested in the global society.
  • Physical Geography: study the earth's phyical elements that comprise the atmosphere, biosphere, hydrosphere and lithosphere. This concentration is designed for students interensted in the natural sciences and enjoy hands-on laboratory courses.
