At Park University, our Disaster and Emergency Management Graduate Certificate program is designed to prepare students for careers in fields such as government, emergency management and private-sector disaster response.
This emergency management certificate program will help you learn to plan for and mitigate an array of hazardous events, as well as engage in public policy issues surrounding these events. The public’s continued concern for efficient governmental response to natural and man-made disasters, along with significant investment in emergency management activities, requires knowledgeable emergency managers and other public managers, including those transitioning from other areas of expertise.
As a student in our certificate in emergency management program, you’re able to take face-to-face classes at one of our Kansas City area campuses or online.

As you pursue this certificate in disaster management, you will learn principles of emergency preparedness, including risk management and planning, emergency and disaster response and management, and including mitigation — continuity of operations in both public and private sectors, critical infrastructure and key resources, as well as theoretical principles of terrorism.
