Types of Study Abroad

Exchange Programs are for one or two semesters with tuition paid to Park University and housing paid to the host institution.

Affiliate Programs are arranged by partners or providers at international institutions or study centers.

Faculty-Led Short Term Programs are academic programs initiated, organized and led by Park faculty members, with assistance from Study Abroad.

Faculty-Led Short Term Programs

Programs may range in length from a week-long program over a university break to two–four weeks program over the summer. A faculty-led short term program involves both traditional learning and experiential learning opportunities in an international setting.

  • Directed by Park faculty.
  • The programs are embedded into regular courses.
  • Travel component takes place over fall or spring break, or during a summer session.
  • Peers are Park University students.

No faculty-led programs are currently offered. The Honors Program will be taking applications for their next faculty-led program in Fall 2025.

Management Center Innsbruck

The Management Center Innsbruck links together the best out of science, economy and consulting to the unique concept of an international Entrepreneurial School®.

Requirement: Min. 2.5 GPA

Location: Innsbruck, Austria

Academic Calendar:

All other programs that offer courses for exchange students: Early October – Mid February

Language of Instruction: English. If students are fluent in Germany, they may also take courses taught in German.

Areas of study: Biological sciences, business, marketing, management, international business, mechatronics, social work, tourism, environmental studies, MBA.

Housing: Most exchange students book a room in a student dorm via the Austrian Exchange Service (OeAD). OeAD arranges rooms in student dorms and students pay their monthly rent accordingly. This is the easiest and most convenient way to find relatively inexpensive housing.

American College of Greece

Located in Athens and originally founded in 1875, Smyrna, Degree. The American College of Greece is the oldest American-accredited college in Europe and the largest private college in Greece. ACG is an independent, not-for-profit, nonsectarian, co-educational academic institution.

Requirement: Students must have a 2.75 GPA.

Chances of placement on exchange: Highly competitive, due to the high volume of applicants from all over the world. ACG can accommodate only ONE Park exchange student per term. However, students can apply through our direct partnership with ACG, and there is an unlimited number of spaces for qualified students.

Areas of study: Art history, studio art, biology, chemistry, classical lit., communication, dance, theater, economics, English, env. studies, Greek language, humanities, history, mathematics, music, oceanography, philosophy, political sci., psychology, physics, sociology, accounting & finance, business, computer sci, physical education.

Housing: Modern, spacious, fully furnished and equipped apartments in the Athens suburb of Aghia Paraskevi, a short walking distance of the College. The comprehensive fee includes double bedroom occupancy with private bath. You may choose to upgrade to a single room or studio at an extra charge and given availability.

Kansai Gaidai University

Kansai Gaidai is a private, nonprofit institution composed of Kansai Gaidai University (four-year program), Kansai Gaidai College (two-year program), the Graduate School, and the Asian Studies Program.

Kansai Gaidai has two campuses in Hirakata: the Nakamiya campus and the Gakkentoshi campus.

The Center for International Education, the centerpiece for the Asian Studies Program is located at the Nakamiya campus.

Currently affiliated with over 383 institutions in 54 countries/regions, Kansai Gaidai offers many university sponsored study abroad programs through which over 1,830 Japanese students are sent abroad each year.

Requirement: Students must have a 3.0 GPA.

Areas of study: Asian Studies Program: ASP provides international exchange students with a means of exploring Japan and Asian studies through classroom instruction and experiential learning in interaction with local people, society and culture. A wide variety of course offerings (more than 60) in the social sciences, humanities, and business/economics Japan-and Asia-related topics, taught entirely in English by experienced faculty members. Previous Japanese language training is not required. Rigorous Japanese language courses ranging from introductory through advanced levels.

Kansai Gaidai Internship Program (KGIP) is a unique offering for the participants of the Asian Studies Program. Through this program, selected students are able to intern at business firms, organizations and local schools to gain experience working in Japan.

Housing: An international residence hall, GLOBAL COMMONS結-YUI, was completed in April 2018. This facility accommodates 700 overseas and local students at a planned ratio of about 1 to 1. Students have the opportunity to grow as global citizens through the experience of studying and living in a multicultural environment. Various events are held throughout the academic year to enhance interactions between international and local students.

Al Akhawayn University

Founded in 1995 in a beautiful location, it is a highly ranked public university with all courses taught in English.

Location: Ifrane, Morocco

Requirement: Students must have a 2.5 GPA.

University of Ulsan

Founded in 1970 by the Hyundai group, The University of Ulsan is a private higher education institution and currently has approximately 10,500 students enrolled.

Location: Ulsan, South Korea

Requirement: Students must have a 2.5 GPA

Language of Instruction: English & Korean

Areas of Study: Korean language, business, arts (performance), humanities, natural sciences (physics, chemistry), design

Admissions

Universidad de Jaén:

Location: Jaén, Spain

Fall: Early September to December (examination January). Fall participants can request on a case-by-case basis to take final exams prior to their December departure.

Spring: Mid-January to mid-May (examination mid to end of May).

Ming Chuan University

Ming Chuan is a comprehensive and private university in Taiwan, with two main campuses: Taipei and Taoyuan. The International College of MCU offers professional programs completely instructed in English. Right in the heart of downtown Taipei City or in the Gui-Shan community, Ming Chuan offers friendly people, delicious food, casual lifestyle and pleasant weather.

Requirement: Min. 2.5 GPA

Location: Taipei, Taoyuan

Academic Calendar:
Fall Semester: Mid-September – Mid-January (total 18 weeks). Spring Semester: End of February – End of June (total 18 weeks).

Language of Instruction: English, Mandarin Chinese

Areas of Study:
In Mandarin Chinese: Management, Communication, Law, Tourism, Design, Education and Applied Languages; Information Technology; Social Sciences; Health Technology.

In English: International; Business and Trade (IBT); Fashion and Innovation Management (FIM); Journalism and Mass Communication (JMC); Travel and Tourism (TT); International Affairs and Diplomacy (IAD). Graduate Programs: International Masters of Business Administration (IMBA); Graduate School of International Affairs (GSIA); Graduate School of Applied Sciences (GAE).

Housing: Students are accommodated in on or off-campus school housing. Fees vary from US $500 to $700 per term. Housing request is available after the student’s application is approved. If students are interested, they can take courses provided in both Taipei and Taoyuan campuses. It usually takes 1.5~2 hours to commute between two campuses.

The Magellan Exchange

A non-profit consortium of universities worldwide, The Magellan Exchange provides an opportunity for students to study and take part in an internship (in some cases) in another country at an affordable cost.

Requirement: 2.5 minimum GPA

Locations: Austria, Belgium, Costa Rica, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Netherlands, Serbia, South Korea, Spain, United Kingdom

Academic Calendar: It varies based on the country and institution selected. Fall, spring and summer programs are available.

Language of Instruction: English, language learning is also available.

Areas of study: Comparable to Park’s offerings.

Requirement: Students must have a 2.75 GPA.
