Park University’s Board of Trustees Adds Three New Members

July 1, 2021 — The governing body of Park University — its Board of Trustees — has elected three individuals to serve three-year terms on the board, effective July 1. Elected were: Jeffrey Anthony, Gary Henry and Jose Rosa, Ph.D.

Vince ClarkThe Board also elected Vince Clark, Kansas City, Mo., vice president of business development and chief corporate affairs officer at Creative Planning LLC, Overland Park, Kan., to serve as chair of the board. In addition, the Board approved the following officers to these roles:
          •  Vice Chair: Richard Keller, Leavenworth, Kan., retired Army lieutenant general
          •  Secretary: Sarah Moe, Kansas City, Mo., founder and president, Sapphire Strategies LLC, Kansas City, Mo.
          •  Treasurer: Dennis Fisher, Ed.D., Kansas City, Mo., retired school administrator

Jeffrey AnthonyJeffrey Anthony
Anthony, a resident of Prairie Village, Kan., has served as the chief financial officer for McCarthy Automotive Group, based in Olathe, Kan., since 1994. Prior to joining McCarthy, he held roles with two certified public accountant firms in Kansas City, Mo., House Park and Co. CPAs, as a manager, and Donnelly Meiners Jordan CPAs as a supervisor. Anthony has been active in the community over his career with a variety of organizations. He currently sits on the workers’ compensation boards for both the Missouri Auto Dealers Association and Kansas Auto Dealers Association, and the civil service commission for the City of Prairie Village. Anthony, who was named the 2019 Chief Financial Officer of the Year by the Kansas City Business Journal, earned a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from the University of Missouri, Columbia.

Gary HenryGary Henry
Henry has served as the vice president of member service centers for CommunityAmerica Credit Union, headquartered in Lenexa, Kan., since March 2020. He has 30 years of experience in executive operations leadership in the financial services sector, including senior management positions with GE Capital, DST Systems, UMB Financial Corp. and JP Morgan Chase and Co. He serves on various financial services advisory groups and is currently the co-chair and board member for The Family Conservatory. In 2009, Henry was named to Diversity MBA magazine’s Top 100 Under 50 Executive and Emerging Leaders list. A resident of Kansas City, Mo., Henry earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Park University and an Executive Master of Business Administration degree from Rockhurst University.

Jose RosaJose Rosa, Ph.D.
Rosa, a resident of Ames, Iowa, is a professor of marketing and the John and Deborah Ganoe Faculty Fellow at Iowa State University, where he also serves as a faculty fellow in the ISU Office of Diversity and Inclusion. Rosa, who has been at Iowa State since 2015, has served in academia since 1992 with prior stops at the University of Wyoming, the University of Illinois at Chicago, Case Western Reserve University and the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Rosa, who was honored with the American Marketing Association’s Williams-Qualls-Spratlen Multicultural Mentoring Award in 2016, currently serves as associate editor for the Journal of Product Innovation Management. He earned a bachelor’s degree in industrial administration from the General Motors Institute of Technology (now Kettering University), a Master of Business Administration degree from Dartmouth College and a doctorate in business administration and psychology from the University of Michigan.
