Locations & Learning Options

As a student pursuing our Graduate Certificate in Homeland Security, you’ll have the option of taking classes at our Parkville, Missouri campus, at our downtown Kansas City campus, at campus centers nationwide and/or online. This certificate requires completion of 12 credit hours with a minimum grade point average of 2.75 on a 4.0 scale. Students pursuing a graduate certificate must also have earned a baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited college, or university or its foreign equivalent. Students who pursue the Graduate Certificate in Homeland Security at Park University will learn how to analyze, mitigate, prevent, and respond to domestic and international threats. Students will gain this knowledge through the following core courses:

Program Highlights

The Graduate Certificate in Homeland Security is for students who are interested in gaining the necessary knowledge and critical thinking skills to advance their careers in protecting the country from internal and external threats. Through this program, you will better understand numerous homeland security issues and how to respond to those issues. Included in this is an analysis of domestic and international threats; mitigation or prevention of threats; and response to terrorism through an understanding of psychosocial, behavioral, criminological and emergency management theories.
