Minor in Homeland Security

The mission of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security is to secure the nation from the many threats it faces. At Park University, students in the Homeland Security Minor program learn to respond to these threats with practical and timely knowledge of domestic preparedness principles. Locations & Learning Options

As you pursue Park University’s Minor in Homeland Security program, you will be able to take face-to-face classes at one of our Kansas City area campus centers, or at one of over 40 campus centers nationwide. You may also take classes online.

The Minor in Homeland Security requires a minimum of 18 completed credit hours. Refer to your catalog for a complete listing of coursework for this degree.

Students in the Homeland Security Minor program acquire the capability to develop practical solutions in managing natural and man-made threats and emergency events. When you study homeland security, you will become equipped to assist organizations in preparedness, response, recovery, and mitigation activities associated with both threats and emergencies.

Program Highlights

As you pursue this minor, you’ll study the geography of terrorism, current homeland security issues and strategies, and the management and preparedness techniques necessary to respond to those issues while providing security and guidance to U.S. citizens.
