Dr. Michael McDonald has taught for Park since 2007. He is an Associate Professor at the University of Missouri Kansas City where he is chair of Communication Studies. He also taught for 21 years at Rockhurst University where he was also Chair is Communication and Fine Arts.
Dr. McDonald received his B.A. and M.A. at the University of Missouri-Kansas City and Ph.D. at the Communication Studies Department at the University of Kansas. He has served in many capacities at his university. One being Assessment Coordinator for his department. Also he serves on the Scholarship committee for his department. Also he serves on the The University Writing across the curriculum Committee at the University of Missouri -Kansas City. He is active member on the student newspaper board. He also taught for several years in the International Travel program to Paris at Rockhurst University.
He is on the Debate Kansas City Board. He has made numerous presentations for the National Communication Association. He has also done so for the Central States Communication Association.
His academic interests are political commutation, rhetoric, Interpersonal communication, intercultural communication, gender and film.
