Dr. J. Mark Noe is the Founder and Director of the Master of Arts in Communication and Leadership. He has served various roles at the University including Associate Dean for the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences and acting Vice President of Academic Affairs. He is a Professor of Communication and has been with the University since 1985.
Dr. Noe received his B.A. and M.A. degrees at the University of Missouri-Kansas City and his Ph.D. at the top ranked Communication Studies Department at the University of Kansas. He is the recipient of numerous teaching awards including the E. C. Buehler Outstanding Teacher Award from Kansas University, the J. L. Zwingle Award for the Outstanding Professor at Park, the Jaycees Outstanding Young Educator, and two Excellence in Teaching Awards by the Park University Graduate School.
He is a frequent speaker to community groups and has worked as a consultant and speaker to organizations including Lucent Technologies, Sprint, Advanced Business Consultants, Andersen Consulting, and the Southwest Insurance Association. He has made numerous presentations at the National Communication Association and served as chair and respondent for a session titled "Caring, Connection, and Community" in Orlando, Florida. Dr. Noe has conducted extensive research with Emergency Medical Services personnel and presented a paper regarding the research in Athens, Greece. He traveled twice to Russia for Park and led two Study Abroad trips to Italy in 2012 and 2015.
His academic interests include philosophy, interpersonal communication, gender, health communication, and ethnographic research.
