Welcome Week 2010
New Student Orientation, August 13th & August 14th* Friday, August 13th: Check in opens at 8 am and program activities begin at 9 am. This day will consist of interactive programs that will give you valuable information about resources available to you at Park. You will also meet your first year seminar professor and first year mentor. The day includes a free celebrity swag bag, lunch and concludes at our annual Meet and Eat barbecue. Saturday, August 14th: Check in is open from 10 am - 12 pm. This day is all about you: Get your ID card made at the Student Assistance Center, take a campus tour and find your classes, and chill out in one or all of our additional information sessions. You get to pick! By the way, there will be fun activities spread around campus too - take an XBox break with friends, a fun photo with a new pal or grab your entourage and play a wicked game of laser tag! Every year we kick off the fall with a full week of awesome activities. This year could be the best yet! Monday, 8/16McVicar the Trickster, presented by Student Life 7 pm, Alumni Hall, Theater Josh McVicar; McVicar The Trickster, travels the country performing comedy Magic and Hypnosis shows. These high energy performances are filled with outrageous one-liners, goofy humor and amazing tricks every step of the way. Each show is a fun filled, fast- paced hilarious adventure, which is what makes the Trickster one of the most talked about performer today. Tuesday, 8/17Movie Under the Stars, presented by the Campus Activities Board 9 pm, Chapel Lawn Wednesday, 8/18Dodgeball, presented by Pirate Fitness. 7 pm, Labor Hall Thursday, 8/19Park Idol Karaoke Contest, presented by Rotaract. 7 pm, Alumni Hall, Theater If you want to compete - feel free to sign up that night, or complete the registration form in advance. Prizes include Barnes and Noble Gift Cards for $100, $75, and $50! Friday, 8/20Activities Fair, presented by Student Life, Leadership & Engagement 12 pm - 2 pm, Thompson Student Center Pick up free stuff and meet representatives from every campus student organization. FREE admission and something for everyone - music, carnival rides, more than 100 craft and art booths, a Saturday parade, good eats, games and fun for the whole family!
