First Day Access Program

First Day Access to Books

Important Update,
Beginning August 2025:

Eligible undergraduate financial aid recipients will no longer receive a Book Voucher. Instead, all required course materials will be provided through First Day Access on or before the first day of class.

This change is designed to reduce the stress of finding course materials on your own and to ensure that you’re fully prepared from day one. Every undergraduate student will have access to their textbooks at the start of the term for added convenience.

In the rare event that a student does not wish to participate in the First Day Access program, they may opt out during the drop/add period of each term. Students who do not opt out will be charged $25 per credit hour for their course materials.

Your financial aid will be applied to your student bill and applied to all charges on your student account statement.

If course materials have been picked up or delivered for the dropped class, those materials should be returned to the bookstore within 48 hours. If a student drops a class and enrolls in a different class, the bookstore will “swap” the required course materials to provide what is needed.

  • For all other international students: Ordering, shipping, and returns must be processed through the Parkville campus. Contact FAST@park.edu.

First Day Access provides materials in the format faculty have adopted for the course. Depending on publisher availability, students may be able to purchase print options separately and can contact FAST@park.edu to inquire on availability.

It is important to note that making a purchase at this store is not an automatic opt-out of First Day Access, and students will receive purchased items in addition to what is already included in the program unless opting out via the link. For more information on opting out, please see the section “Can I opt-out of the program?”.

Students who desire to keep print materials can purchase them at a slightly discounted rate.

Students will receive email notifications from the bookstore reminding them to verify their order and choose their fulfillment preference (digital or physical materials). If the student does not opt-out and physical materials were ordered, they will be held at the bookstore for a period of time before being returned to the warehouse.

Opting Out of the Program

Students may opt-out of the First Day Access program between 30 days prior to term start through Day 8 of the term. By opting out, students will not have access to required materials (digital access to content within Canvas will be disabled) unless purchased separately. The opt-out process will be enabled one month before the term begins.

Students who opt-out after receiving physical materials are responsible for returning those materials within 48 hours to have a refund processed. If materials are not returned, the charges for the materials will remain on the student’s account, and they will be subject to a replacement and non-return processing fee.

Students who opt-out will be directed to an online bookstore for options to purchase required materials.

You are encouraged to carefully review all courses and options before opting-out.

Student’s accounts will be credited between Weeks 3 to 5 of the term for those who opt-out during the opt-out window.

Students may change their opt-out status to opt back in to First Day Access at any time up until Day 8 of the term, using the same opt-out link:

https://aip.bncollege.com/app/courselist/

Students must make their final selection by Day 8. At the end of Day 8, selections are locked in. After that, changes are not permitted.
