Who Should Major in Art and Design?
Art and design students are creative individuals who learn to express their ideas in a wide range of digital media as well as in the traditional hands-on studio techniques: drawing, painting, ceramics, fiber and photography. They are visual thinkers, artistic problem solvers learning to generate visual solutions for a diverse range of clients in the world.
Collaboration with groups of colleagues and clients characterize the professional lives of interior designers, graphic designers and art educators. Art and design students at Park get numerous opportunities to work in groups. A minor in fine art, and a variety of individual elective art courses, are available at Park, and can be added to personalize other majors. Art and design majors can add variety and depth to their degrees with the addition of a minor in business, marketing, communication, or psychology, among others.
