Minor in Peace Journalism

About the Program

AVAILABLE JULY 1, 2014

While other universities have more general peace studies minors, Park University is the first university in the world to offer a specific Peace Journalism minor.

The Peace Journalism minor is for students wishing to hone their communications skills and enhance their peace credentials. This minor will be ideal for students studying humanities, social work, psychology/sociology, or political science, and for students planning to attend graduate school in communications, or for students interested in a career in communications, NGO/non-profits, international relations, social work, etc.

Students enrolled in the Peace Journalism minor at Park will have the unique advantage of working with and for university’s Center for Global Peace Journalism, a one of a kind entity dedicated to disseminating peace journalism to a worldwide audience of students and professional journalists. The center has recently completed projects in Uganda, Lebanon, Kyrgyzstan, Kenya, Ireland, and The Bronx, NY, to name just a few locations.

Park’s Peace Journalism minors will be eligible to study abroad and assist the Center for Global Peace Journalism’s director as he leads peace journalism projects around the globe.
